My dad loves to party, but when I say party I mean, he LOVES to dance, enjoy great food, and hang out with his friends and family. Who doesn't love that? Well as his 60th birthday approached, he hinted that he wanted to have his high school/college friends that he hasn't seen in a few years, come to town to celebrate his 60th. So, I started planning. I decided to take advantage of the amazing small businesses in Charleston, and only use local vendors for most of the party! Due to the times we are in with COVID still happening, and the fact that my father is a small business owner himself, I thought it would be a perfect touch to the party, to...''locally charm'' it, as I like to say (which means supporting small businesses). Below I am going to highlight the vendors we decided to use, and I'll share a few photos from the event as well! Check out my Instagram post about the party here!
I also found ‘Heart Paper Scissors’ on Etsy! A local vendor that creates DIY party kits. She gifted us a balloon garland, the beer balloon and the perfect ‘cheers’ balloon & tassel garland for the bar! I loved the tassels so much I saved it to use another time!! We rented a restroom on wheels from Charleston Restroom Trailers! They were extremely easy to work with and picked up the next day. The bathroom was super clean and stocked with everything we needed! I highly recommend renting an additional restroom for your next event. Guest appreciated this as no one had to wait in a line to use the restroom because we thought ahead! We will for sure be renting again from this vendor for our next event! Lauren Hall, a local country music singer, put on a killer show for our crowd. Our friends couldn’t get enough of her, and I think most were listening to her on Apple Music on the drive back home! Already looking forward to booking her for our next event! And lastly, we enjoyed a delicious spread of food from Brisket Billy! He served brisket, BBQ, chicken, brussle sprouts, and macaroni & cheese! We couldn't have had a better time if we tried. The party came together beautifully and everyone danced the night away as we celebrated my father's 60th birthday party. Again, as we navigate through this hard times, I highly recommend supporting local small businesses in your area instead of purchasing from the big box stores.
