What to Include in Your Wedding Details Box and Getting Ready Box

I'm so excited to dive into my wedding tips & tricks now that my Charleston wedding has come and gone! I mentioned on Instagram that I prepared a 'Details Box' and a "Getting Ready Box' for my wedding day.  Many of you wanted to know what I put in those wedding boxes, so I am explaining everything below!

Let's start with the photographers 'Details Box!' This box was specifically for my photographer to use for photos! I included anything and everything I wanted her to include in our wedding flat lay! She also ended up taking a few pieces out of my 'Getting Ready Box!' A flat lay is a photo of your 'Save the Date' and your wedding invite, plus other details of your wedding day.

Our Charleston wedding photographer took a few different variations of flat lays for us because I included a lot in our box! I'll share photos below!

In the box,  included our wedding rings, plus the other two special rings I wore my wedding day, as well as my wedding day bracelet and wedding earrings! I also included our vow books,  wax seal we used when we mailed our wedding invites, 3 wax sticks, bride sunglasses, our custom koozies and cocktail napkins, and a drink stir, which featured our goldendoodle, Sully!.

She also put together a Bride's flat lay and a Groom's flat lay! my bridal flat lay included a pair of my wedding shoes (yes, a pair lol! I wore three pairs of shoes on my wedding day!), my wedding earrings and bracelet, as well as our vow books and my perfume! Blake's flat lay included his wedding socks, bowtie and wedding ring. We also included the watch I gave him, which he wore on our wedding day, a mini bottle of Crown Royal, his favorite liquor, his 'old timer' knife, and his cologne!

In your details box you basically want to include pieces you are wearing or using on your wedding day, as well as special pieces that mean a lot to you! Now let's chat about my 'Getting Ready Box!'

In this box, I included anything I may need or want while I was getting ready! I started this box a few weeks before my wedding and finished it the week of! I did this because I did not want to forget anything, or wish that I had something with me!

I included makeup for touchups after my hair and makeup artists left. I also included my Spanx (these are the BEST!), my slippers, a hair brush, bride to be tea which is made to calm your nerves, my dogs leash and bandana he wore, my perfume, hair pieces, fun sunglasses to give my bridesmaids, eye patches, and socks for when I changed into my converse for the reception!

My mom was in charge of putting together a basket full of 'just in case' goodies for my me and my bridesmaids, as well as anyone else getting ready with us! It included toothbrushes, toothpaste, bobby pins, hair spray, hair ties, gum, mints, tums, Advil, tampons, panty liners, stain remover, a lint roller, and eye drops! I highly suggest having someone put this basket together for your wedding day! It was super helpful knowing we had everything we needed in case of any emergencies!

Overall, some of these items we did not use, but the idea behind putting these basket together is to help keep your stress level low, and ensure you have what you need so that the getting ready process can be smooth and FUN!
